Code Geass Episode 25: Obey

One last parting shot at Code Geass and then it's time to move on.

The other day, I noted without irony that change from within is change you can believe in.

I figure I ought to rectify that. But really, it was a good idea because it came down to two options:

  1. Fight a ton of people who ALL HAIL BRITANNIA
  2. RULE BRITANNIA

Audviously, the latter option crushes all through the sheer might of SATB.

In light of this, was there really any doubt? The one thing Charles really lacked, was a darn good choir. No empire is complete without one.

Oh, and maybe someone to write darn good music for it.

P.S.

The Rule, Britannia! part begins at 3:11.

2006 was the only BBC Proms year that I could find a choir-centric performance of RB and given Britain's strong choral tradition, I'm confused as to why this is. Soloists are all well and good, but in the chorus it simply lacks the kick that a harmonic line in soprano provides.

Yes, there's Handel's Messiah, too. Hey, it's not as if the Germans didn't have a strong choral tradition either.

P.P.S.

Mind control, micro-ing forces, strategy games… It all makes sense! You know what have been really cool, is if Lelouch turned the Damocles into a Psychic Dominator.
